Making Implant Scans with TRIOS
Dentist should perform the following operations when scanning an implant:
Step 1: Create order and select "abutment" for restoration type.
Step 2: Remove healing abutments.
Step 3: An extra scan page is added automatically, giving you 2 pages for the jaw with the abutment.
Step 4: Select first page of implant scan (the one without the scan body icon).
Step 5: Make the first scan.
Step 6: Mark implant locations using the "mark preparation" tool.
Step 7: Attach scan body to implant.
Step 8: Select the second page of implant scan (the one with the scan body icon).
Step 9: The areas around the scan bodies are automatically removed.
Step 10: Trim more areas, if automatic removal has been insufficient.
Step 11: Scan the scan body (outside only) starting from the surface, 1-2 teeth away from
the scan body (for the system to recognize some of 3D structures). If the contact points were
auto deleted, there is no need to re-scan them again.
Step 12: Mark the scan body using "Mark preparation" tool.
