A collet needs to be frequently checked for tightening. If a collet is used for a prolonged period or cutting error occurs frequently, the collet may become loose and gripping force of a tool may become weak. Confirm tightening of a collet every 200 hours or once in a month according to the following procedure.
Open the VPanel and click [Settings]. The [Settings] window appears.
Click [Open Collet] in the [Maintenance] tab. The collet opens.
Align the spanner with the collet. Use the included spanner
Insert the detection pin into the collet.
While holding the detection pin by hands, tighten the collet by turning the spanner counterclockwise. If the spanner and the end of the spindle unit (the colored portion on the diagram on the left) rotate at the same time, tightening is appropriate.
Important If the collet is tightened without inserting the detection pin, the collet may be deformed and cutting accuracy may be degraded. Tighten the collet using the included spanner while the detection pin is inserted.
Detach the detection pin and spanner. The detection pin can be easily detached by pulling it downward.
Click the [Close Collet] on the VPanel. The collet closes.
