**DISCLAIMER** Changes made following this article can result in configurations being erased or changed that will damage your setup. Make sure to backup your setup and understand that this will damage the machine at your own risk. If you require help after a mistake, CAP will have to erase and setup the standard configuration and be charged additional support fees.
This article assumes that you have your Roland mills setup in VPanel and SUM3D configured. This does not cover how to setup multiple mills to automatically output. This article also covers how to update if you change the Roland mill machine name.
Find your mill name
Check the machine name listed in your VPanel that you want to SUM3D machine to output and start automatically. Save the exact name to reference to enter in SUM3D.
Updating SUM3D to send files to VPanel Automatically
First, back-up any settings that you have in SUM3D. Simply copy the root SUM3D folder.
Since this is for advance users, we will not give direct instructions where to find where to change the settings.
In the machine archive, carefully click on the Machine Code for Customization field. This can accidentally be erased by mistyping or incorrect cursor movements or typing. You've been warned. If you make a mistake you can cancel out the changes and enter back into the setting for the machine you want to update but accidental saves are irreversible.
See if you find a string that contains START>"Roland DWX-50" or SEND>"Roland DWX-50" in the Machine Code for Customization.
If there is neither of the string values present, add the SEND>"insert_VPanel_printer_name_here" to the end of the string already in the text field. Otherwise, update the text in the double quotes for insert_VPanel_printer_name_here with the exact name in the printer name in VPanel. SEND is what is recommended to use as it ensures that the calculation is successful before starting the machine. START command will start the machine immediately but users will not be able to fix any issues with angle limits or calculations being skipped due to other issues.
