This is an overview of the tool menu sub-menu pop-up. This can change over time or have additional buttons depending on the version or vendor build of Millbox. Button functions may have additional articles referenced in this document to help explain how to use them in Millbox.
This button opens the CNC folder location for the selected machine or default CNC folder location. Use this to help move cnc job files if you do not use direct mill or have machines configured to send files to specific local or network folders.

This button open another menu to enables the user to toggle the displays of the following
- Equipment / Fixtures
- Detected cylinder holdes
- Detected cavities (defined by margin curves)
- Cavity color fit
Auto-nests the units in a disc.
This tool is used for special milling operations. Users use this to "paint" the areas that need to be defined by the user for an operation to apply or avoid the areas highlighted. This is all dependent on how the strategy is setup and reference how to use the selected areas.
Reus. blocks (Reusable blocks)
This button open another menu to enables the user to toggle the displays of the following options related to managing reusable block files.
- Remove used areas
- Stock Export
- Stock Import
- Rotate stock
This adjusts the current stock file shrinkage value if it needs to be adjusted.
This button open another menu to enables the user to select a stabilizer type to apply to a unit.
This will give the user two options to insert or modify engravings on a unit.
This will generate a report for the current job and use the current view as the screenshot to apply.
A duplicate button that is also available in the unit modification menu. This will allow you to change a units offset.
Curves and surfaces
This button open another menu to enables the user to perform curve and surface modification to a selected unit.
- Margin line detection
- Manually draw margin lines
- Cylinder detection
- Add cap to cylinder
- Change cylinder size
- Delete curves and cylinder caps
Add vertical support
A separate sprue function to create vertical supports to the limit of the disc height in the Z direction. This is typically needed for sinterable materials that shrinks to minimize distortions such as large bridges in a sinter Cobalt Chrome material
Replace (advanced users)
This is a function not supported by CAP.
Tool Administration (Beta - advanced users)
This tool brings up the ability to manage tools in the machine. This feature is currently in beta and should not be used at this time since it does not validate changes to tool positions. What this means is that a user could change a tool setup and but not update a mills actual tool positions.
