NOTE: You can break tools or the mill if you do not know how to identify what steps the milling stopped or you have to restart again. Use this feature at your own risk.
Partial milling checklist
- No mysterious tool break or errors potentially due to strategy issues?
- Can you tell which steps completed 100% and know the steps?
- Are you comfortable with the risk?
If you answer No to any, then we recommend just recalculating the entire job from the beginning using the standard calculation methods.
Click the checkbox "Partial Execution."
A dialogue will pop-up to confirm you are willing to take this risk.
Once you confirm this risk by clicking the check button, a checkbox will appear in the "Start Mill" menu for "Partial Execution."
To continue, click either "Save Toolpath" or "Start Milling" to continue. The calculation dialogue may and continue to 5% after starting the calculation process before you see additional pop-ups.
Other pop-up menus such as Milling Strategy options and Tool Tables might pop-up if enabled for your setup. Confirm these options until you get to the list of strategy operational steps that may look similar but can be different depending on what strategies are being used.
Once you click a milling step, the steps that will be calculated are highlighted green. As shown below, the roughing steps have been selected to be skipped for the calculation.
From there, Millbox will continue to calculate in the same steps and output locations as a full calculation job.
