Using Millbox to setup new milling jobs is really easy with CAP-configured machines and setups.
Create a new job
- Click the new job button
- Select a machine from the list
- Select the tool set for machine (If available). Open the Tools set to select other available sets
- Confirm (or cancel)l job
1. Start the new job
Click the New Job button on the right side of the application. A list of available machines will appear.
2. Select the machine
Click on the machine that you are setting up a job for.
If the machine you are setting up a job for is not listed, do not select a similar looking machine; that may damage the machine, or not work at all in the machine.
All machines either have a single tool installed or a Tools package installed.
Machines with single tools will be listed with the name and image of the machine.
Machines with Tools package will be listed with the name and image of the machine plus the name of the Tools package installed.
3. Open the Tools package installed on the machine (if available)
You must select the Tools package the you want the machine to use for the new job you are setting up.
It is important that you choose the tool that the job requires. Choosing an incorrect tool may damage the machine, because tools and materials are paired to match each other's properties (hardness, flexibility, etc.).
Choose a tool set in the Tools package
Click the the Tool package icon .
Choose a tool in the tool set
Below is example of selecting a machine, opening the Tools package and choosing the tool set, and picking the correct tool for the new job.
4. Select the material for the job
Click on the appropriate material for the job from the Materials list.
After selecting a material, a fixture image will show up.
For disc material, the standard 98mm fixture should show up.
Click the Check button to save your selections. A pop-up window will appear for importing an STL file; Millbox will automatically progress you through that workflow.
Positional Fixture machines & materials
Pin- or mandrel-based positional locations are associated with some materials. You must choose the position in the Position section.
Select the material for the job. If it is a fixture-based material, a fixture icon will appear, and a pictoral list of all the positions on that fixture.
Click on a position in the Position list for the new job, then click the Check icon. The "Imported Selected File" window will appear.
How to setup additional positions are covered in later articles in this section.
